This object is the baculum, or penis bone, of a walrus. In Alaskan cultures, the item is known as an oosik: “a polished and sometimes carved baculum of these large northern carnivores.” Wikipedia also notes that they are also sold as souvenirs. And all I brought back from Alaska was memories and photos.
