The plural of Elvis is Elvi, of course. Here we have some Elvi from different periods in his career. One of the details on the one in the lower left is the TCB monogram, for “Taking Care of Business,” a phrase Elvis adopted and used as a name for his backup band. The phrase wasn’t original to him, but was used in African American and R&B circles (giving a name to this this 1968 Motown TV special, for instance). Notably, it shows up in Aretha Franklin’s version of Otis Redding’s “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”. Both the King of Rock and Roll and the Queen of Soul knew how to TCB.
OK, and yes, Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
