The little colored astroids on the Steelers helmets is (more or less) the Steelmark, a logo owned by the American Iron and Steel Institute. Once upon a time, Pittsburgh was synonymous with steel, so in 1962, the AISI got the logo on the helmets as a bit of advertising, and here we are. Kind of interesting that the mark is also used for a Chilean fútbol team nicknamed Los Acereros (the Steelers). As for the jacket, the Kaiser Steel mill in Fontana operated until the 1980s. It’s also where the T-1000 meets its demise in Terminator 2. Today we learned so many things!
