From the estate of a real car buff. The car, of course, is magnificent, but I was really taken by the instrument panel. It’s like a cross between a cash register and a volt meter and a car dashboard. The photos made it hard to tell what kind of car it was, and this is an object lesson in working smarter rather than harder. I always want to say something more informative than, “Hey look at this part of an old car of some sort.” So I spent some time sleuthing around and slowly settled on the idea that it was a 1929 Hudson. I could have saved a lot of time, if only I’d looked at the license plate.
