The Weatherwaxes are animal training royalty. Rudd Weatherwax trained the original Lassie for both film and TV (and Old Yeller). His son Robert “Bob” took over — Bob passed away just last year (and his son also spent time with animals). And Rudd’s brother Frank was also part of the biz (and nephew Ken was TV’s Puggsley Addams).
Would love to know if this was used at his home, or ‘just’ a bit of Hollywood PR for on the set or something.
