I remember Highlights, but I don’t remember Jack and Jill, but it is a kids’ magazine still going strong since its inception in 1938. Looks like a lot of the articles were of the form “My father is… [occupation]” anything from fixing linotype machines to training killer whales, Bozo the Clown to Walter Cronkite. Given the era (The Cronkite one is 1967), mom was no doubt in the kitchen where she belonged. I think it’s safe to say the magazine has changed with the times.
