Fire Alarm Telegraph

Not immediately clear what this is, but the second photo helps. A product of the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company, founded in 1879. I’m guessing this is one of the central transmitters. The individual fire alarm box would send the location of the fire here, and the central transmitter could then get the message out to individual stations about the location.

Gamewell is still around as a division of Honeywell.
