TIL the Disabled American Vets would (circa 1940s to 1970s) make mini license plates that matched your license plate. These DAV tags served as keychains, and on the back there were instructions to mail them to the DAV if found. Presumably the organization would connect the lost keys with their owners. This collection seems to be all Illinois plates.
