Dark Carnival by Ray Bradbury

Bradbury obviously is known more as an author than an artist, but this is a signed print of a painting he made apparently back in the 1940s. Possibly, I should have dashed out to snatch this up, since it seems to be in an edition of 200 and fetching a fine price nowadays. The link notes that the original was long part of Forry Ackerman’s collection. It was later used as the cover art of the reprint of Bradbury’s collection Dark Carnival. One of my own prize possessions is a first edition of that book from 1947 from Arkham House.

The other thing that really sold me on this item showing up here is that the owner kept this notice of the event in the newspaper.
