The Desert Classic is still a Palm Springs area PGA event, but back in the day they had a bit more fun with it with a prominent celebrity pro/am aspect that drew in players from Bing Crosby and Burt Lancaster to Desi Arnaz and Ike Eisenhower. The 1974 event was won by Hubert Green.
