Just a fun blog about amazing things from estate sales.
The title is suggested by the many schlocky films of the 50s. It Came From Outer Space. It Came From Beneath the Sea. The implication being that It was something unexpected and, well, probably frightening. Worth paying money to see, anyway.
Our goal is not to frighten, but to inspire awe, wonder, admiration and okay sometimes frighten.
De gustibus non disputandum est, the Romans said in truth. People’s tastes are their own. I render no judgments. Having enjoyed the hobby of going to estate sales (and travelling the world) I feel a strange desire to simply chronicle the variety that life brings.
To the estate sale agents, I hope you find this a boon rather than a curse. I hope to generally promote the idea of estate sales, and give credit where it makes sense. I won’t hotlink images, and the worst I’ll do is post some examples of bad photography (here I will politely refrain from crediting the photo).
